About The Artist
Known for his colourful, large-scale snake paintings, Benjamin Goward has been sharing his paintings and drawings on Tiktok since August 2025. His recent works include animal and custom pet portrait drawings in mixed media (ink, brush pens, and coloured pencil on archival paper).
Born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, Benjamin continues to work from his home town where he also obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from UBC-Okanagan in 2009. As a child and teenager, Benjamin also had a love for drawing (specifically copying photographs), but his desire to use acrylic and oil paint spurred his enrollment in post-secondary education.
To pay off student loans, Benjamin worked in the Alberta oil sands as a roughneck on a drilling rig (Kelly Single with spinning chain – iykyk) for 6 years until he made a career change in 2017. With a background in construction and painting in between university semesters, Benjamin opened a sole-proprietor residential painting business and continues to serve in the Okanagan area while growing his art business.
